DIY At-Home Spa Party

Spa days are the ultimate relaxing getaway, if you’re willing to spend an arm and a leg. Luckily, there are ways to treat yourself, and your friends, without breaking the bank. Here are some tips for perfecting your very own spa party:

  • Steam some hand towels.
    • A hot, steamy towel is incredibly relaxing. (This is essentially the only thing I enjoy during long plane rides.) Welcome your guests with one of these to prepare them for their luxury at-home experience.
  • Turn your kitchen counter into a facial bar.
    • If you have a lot of cleansers and scrubs like I do, let your friends try them out!
    • For a real DIY feel, look in your pantry or buy some fresh ingredients. Olive oil, avocados, sugar, and oatmeal are just a few staples for homemade masks. Guests can follow printed recipes, or create their own treatments.
  • Moisturize, and have fun with it.
    • This important step can’t be forgotten. Gather a selection of sheet masks to pick and choose from, then take silly photos together while you wait for the serums to absorb.
  • Pamper each other with massages.
  • Provide different service stations.
    • Set up a manicure and pedicure station with an assortment of nail colors.
    • A large bowl of warm water and some epsom salt are all you need for a soothing foot bath. Add some smooth rocks to the bowl for a gentle foot massage.
    • Keep your brows on fleek with an eyebrow shaping station: tweezers, wax, mirror, bowl of ice, and aloe gel.
  • Eat and drink classy.
    • Add fruit to sparkling water. It’s simple, but incredibly refreshing.
    • Make your own juices or smoothies.
    • Create your own high tea platter. My ideal tier would have fruit salad, scones, macarons, petit fours, egg salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, and smoked salmon sandwiches.
    • Set up a wine and cheese station.
    • Serve healthy appetizers such as summer rolls, caprese salad, sushi, and crostini.
  • Treat yourself!
    • When the party is over, take a bath with one of these luxury bath melts. You deserve it.
